Abhishek Dutta, a Fashion Designer from India is known to create garments with a difference. I like his innovative approach of using exceptional and unconventional fabrics with various ancient embroideries and futuristic cuts with focus on wearability and I think this is what makes him different from his contemporaries. His assembly of designer garments is available internationally and he has been a participant of Bali Fashion Week, Asia Fashion Week, Singapore Fashion Week, Wills India Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.
For Summer/Resort 2011, Abhishek gave minimalism a stylish fashion variation at the Lakme Fashion Week with unconventional silhouettes that brought about on the spot interest. His collection called “The Kite Runner” featured on the runway showcased kaleidoscopic colors like canary yellow, tangerine orange and grape in combination with neutrals like ivory, beige and steel. The designer played with folds and created unusual hemlines, plackets and seams, keeping the craft of “Origami” as his inspiration. He also played with striking appliqués, laser cutouts, channel seams and screen prints for the surface ornamentation. For silhouettes, he designed comfortable trapeze lines, shifts, yoga pants, summer jackets and draped garments, etc.
